Global Switch Partners with HKBN Enterprise Solutions; Provides Latest in Liquid Cooled Data Centre Services
HONG KONG 27 February 2025 – Global Switch, a leading owner, operator and developer of large-scale data centres, today announces a collaboration with HKBN Enterprise Solutions (HKBNES). The partnership will provide HKBNES’ enterprise customers access to Global Switch’s highly resilient infrastructure and cutting-edge liquid cooled solutions.
Last September, Global Switch introduced the latest in liquid cooling technology at its Hong Kong data centre—a first for the region. With its market-leading, highly flexible infrastructure, Global Switch empowers customers to implement the cooling solutions that best meet their needs. Demand for liquid cooling, in particular, is rising as businesses deploy hardware for AI and high-performance computing.
Located in the Tseung Kwan O Industrial Estate, Global Switch’s Hong Kong data centre is adjacent to major submarine cable landing stations, a critical factor for the city’s financial services industry in particular. At over 70,000 square metres and with 100MVA of power supply, the site provides supreme regional connectivity alongside a full range of colocation, cloud and managed services.
The data centre market in Hong Kong is estimated to grow in value from US$3 billion in 2023 to around US$5.7 billion by 2028. This growth will be driven to a large extent by the continued, government-supported development of the local AI industry. Highlighting the importance of the infrastructure that supports this industry, the Hong Kong government estimates that computing power demand in the city will reach 15,000 petaflops by 2030.
Eric Liu, Managing Director, Global Switch Hong Kong, said: “Last year, we showcased the latest in liquid cooling technology at our Hong Kong data centre, and continue to see strong demand from customers looking for efficient and sustainable AI and HPC deployments. We are pleased to be working with HKBNES and to be supporting the flourishing of the local AI industry.”
Jon Arnold, Executive Group Director, Sales and Strategic Accounts, Global Switch, said: «We are pleased to be partnering with HKBNES to deliver our high-performance and highly resilient data centre solutions. As part of Global Switch’s world-class platform, our Hong Kong data centre offers the scalability, resilience, and cutting-edge cooling technology needed to support the region’s growing AI and digital infrastructure demands.»
Dr. Gabriel Leung, CEO of HKBN Enterprise Solutions, stated: «The AI boom has significantly increased demand for data centre solutions. As a key financial and information hub in Asia-Pacific, Hong Kong has the advantage of connecting Mainland China and global markets, which has created a critical demand for reliable, high-performance data centres. By partnering with Global Switch and integrating its world-class facilities with HKBNES’s infrastructure and end-to-end hosting services, we will empower enterprise customers to scale efficiently and stay ahead in the competitive landscape.»
